Despite absolutely awful conditions this morning, hundreds of athletes descended on Birtley's Lord Lawson Academy to take part in a snowy/sleety/windy XC relay, hosted by Birtley AC. Our North East officials are the best in the country, enduring the weather with barely a complaint, and helped by Birtley AC's band of willing volunteers, the event went off very well. The athletes did their best despite the conditions, and some great times were still obtained, although understandably a little slower than last year. The NEMAA winners are listed below, and full results can be seen by downloading this Excel spreadsheet, or can be seen on the Birtley AC website M35 1st team:- Tyne Bridge (Paul O'Mara, Tom Charlton, Michael Hedley) 2nd team:- Gateshead Harriers (Conrad Franks, Daniel Alexander, Phil Jamieson) 3rd team:- Elvet Striders (Daniel Sherlike, Bryan Potts, Liam Luke) M45 1st team:- Darlington H&AC (Wesley Tarn, Jamie Callaghan, John Clifford) 2nd team:- Elvet Striders (Graeme Watt, Mark Kearney, Rob Kleiser) 3rd team:- Morpeth Harriers (David Stabler, Lee Bennett, Andrew Ball) M55 1st team:- Sunderland Harriers (Tim Field, Paul Merrison, Ed Sweeney) 2nd team:- Elvet Striders (Ian Butler, Allan Renwick, Wayne Pearson) 3rd team:- Elswick Harriers (Andy Green, John Rippon, Rob Lambert) M65 1st team:- Ponteland Runners (Mick Meaney, Robert Sewell, John James 2nd team:- Sunderland Strollers (Ken Maynard, Bob Owen, Malcolm Cox) 3rd team:- Morpeth Harriers (Richard Sill, Andrew Dippie, Stephen Land) M35 Fastest leg - Tom Charlton 10:35 M40 Fastest leg:- Conrad Franks 10:21 M45 Fastest leg:- Wesley Tarn 11:03 M50 Fastest leg:- Nigel Simpson 11:44 M55 Fastest leg:- Lee Bennett 12:26 M60 Fastest leg:- Tim Field 12:36 M65 Fastest leg:- Paul Merrison 13:05 M70 Fastest leg:- John James 15:17 M75 Fastest leg:- George Routledge 24:15 F35 1st team:- Darlington H&AC (Samantha Teasdale, Naomi Hall, Bernadette Caygill) 2nd team:- Crook AC (Jennifer Lloyd-Edwards, Kimberley Clay, Lisa Donaldson) 3rd team:- Wallsend Harriers (Lucy Wallace, Sarah Read, Emily James) F45 1st team:- North Shields Poly (Wendy Pawsey, Stephanie Mclean Dann, Tina Diddee) 2nd team Tynedale Harriers (Kirstie Anderson, Charlie Pinkney, Lisa Short) 3rd team:- Tyne Bridge (Babsy Ewusie, Marie Bell, Amanda Crane) F55 1st team:- Sunderland Strollers (Wendy Chapman, Sarah Lake, Suzanne Davey) 2nd team:- Ponteland Runners (Amelia Dakin, Lalage Brown, Celia Bone) F35 Fastest leg:- Samantha Teasdale 12:58 F40 Fastest leg:- Lucy Wallace 12:44 F45 Fastest leg:- Wendy Pawsey 12:39 F50 Fastest leg:- Stephanie Mclean Dann 12:40 F55 Fastest leg:- Wendy Chapman 13:17 F60 Fastest leg:- Julie Turner 14:36 F65 Fastest leg:- Kate Williams 16:38 British and Irish International Masters Cross country 2025 at Roundhay Park, Leeds on 15th November15/11/2025 Race 1. 6km
