North Shields Poly Masters topped the medal table at the Scottish Masters Indoor Championships in Glasgow at the weekend, capping a strong showing from athletes across the North East.
Competitors from several regional clubs made the trip north, producing a host of impressive performances throughout the championships. Leading the way were the North Shields Poly athletes, who finished top of the standings with an outstanding haul of 10 gold, four silver and one bronze medal. A number of new North East Indoor All Time records were also set , by Hazel Bough (1500m), Karen Storey (60m), Lee Elder (800m), Lloyd Powell (HJ), Ian Richardson (60m), Andrew Webb (60mh), Steve Dodds (400m), and Stuart Lynn (200m and 400m). If there are any others please let us know? As always, the event was run in the great Emirates Arena, to a very high standard, with world class organisation and officiating. Special thanks also go to the officials who travelled from the North East to support the championships. Congratulations to everyone who took part, to all the medallists, and to those who earned the title of Scottish Champion.
