A team of 44 athletes from NEMAA made the journey south to Derby for the prestigious British Masters Athletics Championships, and they returned with an outstanding medal haul.
The weekend was full of drama, with competitors facing blazing sunshine one moment and torrential thunderstorms the next. But the unpredictable weather didn’t stop NEMAA athletes from delivering one of their strongest performances to date. In total, 30 athletes brought home 53 medals:

Competing Athletes NEMAA also proudly acknowledges the efforts of those who battled in tough fields, ensuring the team spirit was as strong as ever: Dawn Ridgeway, George Routledge, Glen Hilton, Hugh Ryan, Ian Humphries, Justin Durham, Marvin Edwards, Michael Salkeld, Amir Ziko, Paul Fisher, Paul Young, Peter Sunderland, Ron Stewart, Simon Allen, and Su-Wan Lewis. A Championship to Remember This was a superb weekend of athletics, showcasing the determination, versatility, and talent of NEMAA athletes across all age groups. Every competitor played a part in making the 2025 British Championships a record-breaking success for the region.
