Yesterday the weather gods smiled favourably on us again, and it was a very sunny (but breezy!) day for our annual T&F Championships. There were some great performances (including championship bests, tbc) and lots of medals were dished out yesterday by our team of Ron Stewart and Steve Winter. Thanks to all the officials who were out there in the blazing sun for hours on end, and of course to our athletes for their entries and participation!
Apologies for those who won medals in the weight competition - we were under time pressure to get out of the stadium due to another event following on from ours, so had to clear up before the event had fully completed. Anyone needing a medal can collect one from me at any of the remaining league matches, or if you're unlikely to be at one of those, drop me a line at [email protected] and we'll sort something out! Also, entries have just opened for the next match (which I realise is late but I needed to get the champs out of the way first!), club shop and track & field page have the appropriate links, hope to see lots of you there next week!

Don't forget to get your entries in for the Track and Field Champs in June, entries available via the same route as above. Finally, a note about yesterday's very busy first match of the season. Thank you to all who competed, and a huge thank you to our super busy and extra efficient officials, who coped with the large numbers with their usual skill and patience. Apologies to those who competed in high jump B, we are currently missing the field card, hence the lack of results. Please ignore the current GP points as these are inaccurate because of the missing results and also because the various A and B pools need to be collated and I haven't done that yet (out of practice, it's been almost a year!). Thanks for your patience :) Team medals won at the recent NEMAA Road Relay Champs, the Sand Dancer 10k, the NECAA Indoor Champs or any other NEMAA championship can be collected at most NEMAA events. Paul Bentley, our Road and XC secretary, will be at the first T&F match on Monday 20th May with medals, sitting near the announcers box - drop in and pick yours up if you're either competing or in the area!
Also, entries are now open for the Masters Track and Field Championships on June 22nd - full details here The NEMAA Road relays are taking place on 1st May and entries are now open - make sure your club is aware and that they need to get entries in by 27th April. Full details can be found on the Road & XC page.
Also, entries are now open for the first NEMAA T&F league match on May 20th. Season Passes are available until May 17th and these allow you to enter all six matches for £25.60, that's a massive saving of £6.80 against buying individual entries for all six matches. Full details of season pass, individual entries and the timetable are available on the Track and Field page. North East Masters Athletics Association is looking for a new auditor for its annual accounts, due to new personal commitments of the current auditor. The accounts audit is undertaken on a voluntary basis, but receives an agreed fee from the committee for expenses. The usual time commitment is 2 – 3 hours each year, between 18 December and the 2nd Monday in January. All of the files are held electronically, so this can be carried out from any location. Please email [email protected] if you are willing to help NEMAA out or have any questions about what might be involved.
