The first two months of 2022 sees lots of competition for masters athletes, both local and further afield, with opportunities for both endurance and track and field athletes.
First of all, the BMAF Indoor Pentathlon and 3k Champs take place in Sheffield on Jan 23rd, and entries close on January 10th, so get your entries in as soon as possible - entry details can be found HERE. We have some amazing age group athletes here in the North East, let's show the country what we can do! Next we have the Birtley XC Relays on January 16th at Lord Lawson School in Birtley - this is an open competition and incorporates the NEMAA XC Relay Championships. Entries close on Jan 13th - details and entries on this LINK Entries don't have to be made by club secretaries or team managers, so if you know a couple of other people from your club who'd be interested, get an entry in for the three of you as soon as possible! Following that event, we have the NEMAA Open XC Championships which take place at Wallsend on Feb 5th (closing date 28th Jan). This race incorporates the NEMAA XC Championships and is also a great opportunity to compete in the Inter Area Championships, representing the North East. Full details and entries can be found on this PAGE. Finally, another one for the T&F athletes - the NECAA Indoor T&F Champs (incorporating the NEMAA Indoor T&F Champs) take place on February 19th and 20th at Gateshead, closing date is the 5th February. Entries can be made HERE.

We would like to offer our congratulations to NEMAA member Guy Bracken, who has been competing at Sheffield Run Jump Throw series, and has broken the indoor V60 3000m world record in 9 minutes 39 seconds - what an amazing result, well done Guy!
