During the recent NECAA T&F match held at Morpeth last weekend, Gavin Bayne broke the NEMAA M65 mile record with a time of 5:51.50 - only to have it broken again a couple of heats later by Morpeth team-mate David Nicholson, in a time of 5:43.82. Well done to both of them! There is another T&F meeting organised for November 15th at Morpeth, with 800m, 3k, discus, shot and javelin - entries available HERE.
NEMAA are thrilled that another of their athletes has produced a British age group record - this time around it's Ian Barnes, setting a new record for the mile of 8:10.40 at his local Eastbourne track in Darlington. The full story can be seen in the Northern Echo - here's the link. Well done Ian!
