Hopefully you all didn't suffer too much with the heat at last night's match (surely the warmest anyone has EVER been at Monkton stadium!), thank you for turning up and a huge thank you to all our hardworking officials who stood out there in 30oC for several hours to allow you all to compete. Results can be seen HERE - any queries about these, please email me at [email protected] as soon as possible.
In other news, pentathlon entries are now open - both the traditional pentathlon and a weight pentathlon are available to enter at £15.40 each, or you can enter both for an additional £5. Details and entries can be found HERE To answer any queries about tonight's match going ahead in this heat, the answer is - yes it is! Obviously we would advise people to act in a responsible manner, drink plenty of fluids, and if you aren't feeling well, please drop out of your event.
For those of you who have competed in this event previously and who were hoping to compete again this year, we have some bad news. Unfortunately entries closed at the beginning of June (despite the fact that we were still awaiting their opening on the website) and we are unable to make a late entry, so sadly we will have to wait until next year for our weekend away.
Full details of timetable plus online entries are available on our Track and Field Page
Entries close on Friday 15th at 5pm SHARP!! Due to increasing entries, we are having to be incredibly strict about numbers in each of the A groups, and I have had to "demote" several athletes to the B group for either or both throws in each match. I have tried to do this as fairly as possible by taking previous performances into account as well as age group standards, but I have noticed that several athletes have ignored the start lists and have asked the officials to add their name to the A group list. Please remain in the group to which you've been assigned, as published on the start lists prior to the event.
I know it's frustrating for you to only get two throws, but if our officials refuse to officiate because we aren't sticking to the rules that they have put in place, then there won't be any throws at all, for any group! If you feel you have been unfairly demoted, then please email me at [email protected] to discuss it. If anyone is found to be a repeat offender, future entries may be affected. Hi all, thank you for taking part in another successful evening of athletics, both athletes and officials! Unfortunately, there have been intermittent problems all day with the harrier league website hosting service, which means that currently you may be unable to access the results from this evening. My apologies for this, there isn't much I can do about it as it's out of our hands, but hopefully the problems will be resolved in the next day or so. If you managed to see your results before the site went down, and you have any queries, please email as usual and I'll try and resolve it.
I'll try and get some screenshots taken directly from the computer program and get those on our own website for anyone who is desperate to see their results! |
