Unfortunately, due to circumstances, we will be unable to send a team to this year's Inter Area Challenge. Apologies to those who expressed an interest in competing, we hope to send a team next year.

...have you got your entry in yet? The NEMAA Track and Field Champs take place on Saturday 22nd June, and it promises to be a great day of competition, including a special 300m hurdles in memory of Ian Cowell.
You can enter online here on our website, with easy payment by credit or debit card. You can also enter online and choose cash/cheque as your payment option, then give me the money/cheque at Monkton at one of the next two matches - this will save you having to print a form out! You can also go down the more traditional route and print the form out here - this can then either be posted to the address given, or brought to one of the league matches prior to the Champs. Please note:- as this is a Championships, all entries and fees must be received by the 18th June - there will be NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY! Please do not turn up on the 22nd expecting to enter an event, as you won't be able to. Entry lists are now online, and will be updated regularly (though not necessarily every day depending on my workload) - have a look and check out your competition before the day. If you think I've missed you, or entered you in the wrong event, please email me ASAP and I'll get it sorted. Thanks, look forward to seeing lots of you running, jumping and throwing soon! ![]() This info has been sent out in an email, but just in case I have the wrong address or it's currently residing in your junk folder, here's the info you need. Thank you for choosing the Season Pass option - now you (hopefully) have your number for the season, you won't need to come into the clubhouse again (though it's always nice to see you all!). Some of you have already chosen your events for the next match (or more), thank you for that - you are too quick for me (and you don't need to do anything else). For the rest of you, you have two ways of choosing your events for upcoming matches. You can either:- 1. Fill in a form on this page for each match (quick and easy to do) - you don't need to choose for every match yet, as long as I have your choices 24 hours before each match. You will then receive a confirmation email outlining your choices, with a link to change them. OR 2. Use the online store and choose Season Pass as your payment option - you will then go through checkout but you won't be charged. If you use the form, you can change your choices up to the day before, or withdraw from all events if necessary - you can do this using the link which you will receive in the confirmation email. I hope this all makes sense, but if not, feel free to email me at the usual address and I'll try and help out! PS Ignore this if you've already made your choices. Below are instructions on how to change your events after you've submitted your choice. Pic 1. Click on the Edit Response button in your confirmation email. Pic 2. Ignore the message on the black strip at the bottom of the email. Pic 3. Click on the down arrow next to the event(s) you wish to change. Pic 4. Either select a different event, or, if you are no longer competing at all, select the first option for every events you have entered (No event). Don't forget to click on the Submit button once you're done. The first league match of the season is here already, and first of all I'd like to say a big thank you to all of you who either bought a Season Pass or paid online for their entry tonight. We have had almost 130 pre-entries, which I'm pretty sure is some sort of record! For all of you eager beavers, your reward will be a quick pick-up of your number tonight from the pre-registration desk, manned (or should that be womanned) by the lovely Joan, possibly with help from Sparrow, Marsha or even myself if we get desperate! To try and keep it as efficient as possible tonight, if you are only entered into one of the later events, consider coming for your number after the initial rush at 5.30-5.45, as it should be a bit quieter later on!
To collect your number, all you'll need is your name which you'll give to the person(s) on the pre-reg desk; this will be on your left as you come in the clubhouse. Please DO NOT try and register again - step away from the computers at the end of the room, you'll only cause confusion if your name is on the list twice! For anyone not yet registered (I'm sure there'll still be a fair few of you!), try and bring the correct money tonight if you can (£4 in case you've forgotten!). I don't have a float since it's the first match of the season, so making change might be tricky if I can't get to the bank today (which is a distinct possibility since I'm going to bed now after night shift!). We do have a contactless card reader which I'll hopefully be able to use if it's not too manic, so there's always plastic to fall back on if we have to (10p extra to cover fees). A few things to remember:- 1. If you've checked your pre-entry online and I've got something wrong (or you have!), don't panic - just come to the computer desk and explain what the problem is. It'll take seconds to sort out so don't worry! Don't email me today because I won't respond (I'll be asleep, see above!) 2. Please have your PB/predicted performance to hand - it'll be too busy to have people standing looking themselves up on Power of 10 when they're registering! 3. Bring change! (For parking if you've already paid for your entry) 4. KEEP YOUR NUMBER ALL SEASON. This includes the Championships in June and the Pentathlon in September. There will be a £4 charge for a replacement number, so make sure your bibs stay either on your vest or in your bag so you don't forget them next time! 5. Smile and have fun! :) Being competitive is great, but it's also a lovely social event, so enjoy yourself even if your performance wasn't what you'd hoped for (but you'll all be great I'm sure!) We have had lots of entries for the first match of the season, and you still have time to get your online entries in and beat the rush on the night! Remember our Season Pass is only £20 for all six matches, and you can buy this online right up until midnight before the day of the first match. This pass is only available to NEMAA members, and is great value for money. Individual matches are also available at £4 each, the first match can be ordered here.
The advantages of entering beforehand are that you can beat the long queues to register (although you will have to pick up your number at the first match, sorry!) and it gives you a bit more time to get to any events that are earlier in the timetable, so the drive there from work might be a bit less stressful! Also, after the first match, you won't even need to come into the clubhouse at all, you can just go straight to the track and compete in your chosen events. Full details of how to enter (including pre-entry without pre payment), timetables and rules can all be seen on our new "all-in-one" Track and Field Page Our current treasurer, Bill Doidge, is standing down at the end of the year after many year's service, and we are currently looking for someone new to fill this vital role in the future. Bill is willing to work alongside the new treasurer next year, so you won't be thrown in at the deep end!
A good knowledge of Excel spreadsheets (or similar) is a must for this role, and obviously being good with figures is a requirement too, as well as being dependable. There are only six committee meetings a year, so there is not too much commitment in that respect. Anyone who would like more information, or is willing to be considered for the role, is invited to complete this short application form. Thank you. Last Wednesday saw another successful road relay champs take place at Monkton - congratulations to the winning teams, Morpeth ladies in race 1 and Sunderland Harriers in race 2. Preliminary results have now been published on our results blog, although these will be updated with correct name spellings etc. in the next day or two (team managers, you need to work on your writing skills!) George Routledge has published some videos of the evening, you can view them using the following links:- 1 of 4 2 of 4 3 of 4 4 of 4 If anyone has photos of the evening, we'd love to get them published - please email them, or send your cloud link. |
