![]() Our very own membership secretary and stalwart of NEMAA, George Routledge, has made the headlines of the website fastrunning.com because of his love of XC, particularly the Nationals, over the years - you can read the article here. I'm sure you'll agree, George is a much respected figure in the region and it's nice to see him being recognised more widely. In other news, Brough Law Fell Race takes place on Sunday March 10th at 10.30am, entries are £3. This is the NEMAA Fell Running Championship race, and it's the ONLY Masters event where on the day entries count for NEMAA awards - don't miss out! This event is also the next Endurance GP event, so you'll get points awarded too.

There may have been a record number of records set at the indoor champs this weekend - there were certainly plenty of them! Our resident "Keeper of the Scrolls", aka Jacqui Etherington has done a great job updating the NEMAA pages to incorporate the new records, and they can be viewed here.
As she's not one to shout about it, we'll do it for her and say that Jacqui herself had a very successful weekend at the Scottish Indoors, picking up a F40 gold medal and CBP for the 800m, and a silver for 1500m. Well done Jacqui! Courtesy of Stuart Lynn, we also have a series of pics from the champs on our home page. Please email if you have other photos or even a report of the day. Also, don't forget there's still time to enter the Indoor Pentathlon Champs inc. the NEMAA champs. Darren Towart and Julian Ions represented NEMAA admirably at last weekend's indoor championships at Sheffield, with strong performances in the 400mH. Julian won the M45 age group in a time of 1:06.03, whilst Darren won the M40 age group in a time of 1:00.80. They both gained world records in addition to their gold medals for their respective age groups (particularly impressive given that this was Julian's first attempt at 400m hurdles). Congratulations to both.
We have several NEMAA athletes competing at this weekend's NECAA Indoor Champs, so let's hope they can emulate the success of these two and come away with some medals and even the odd record or two - best of luck to all! Don't forget, there's still time to enter the Indoor Pentathlon Champs, entry details are here. Archie Jenkins has completed the first set of Endurance GP results - view your standing here.
