This weekend saw the third NECAA track and field event take place at Morpeth, with many NEMAA members taking part in the various disciplines, including 100m, 800m, discus, shot, javelin, and long jump. However, the event also incorporated the NEMAA 3k Championships and this event was well attended (given the current Covid restrictions!). The weather for late September was relatively kind to us, and the athletes seemed to enjoy what was for some their first taste of proper competition this season. Two 3k Championship records were also broken - Roselle Oberholzer broke her own record from last year by almost 2 seconds, whilst David Nicholson smashed Mark McNally's 8 year record by over 20 seconds. Great times were also recorded by non-NEMAA members Claire McManus and David Oxland - congratulations to everyone who competed!
Results of the main meeting and the 3k Champs can be seen HERE Photos from the day, taken by Stuart Whitman, can be seen HERE Please note, there will be one more event taking place on October 18th - details to be announced shortly, please keep an eye on our news page and/or fixtures page.
